Returning to Ireland in January 2021 from Australia, David Carpendale established 'David Oliver Bespoke', a luxury handmade furniture design company.
Having run his own successful carpentry outfit in Australia for the previous eight years, David returned to his roots as a furniture maker and set up a workshop under the same roof as his father's renowned iron craft business, which had been operating for almost 50 years.
"Being back to where my love of woodworking started is very special, and sharing floorspace with my father, a true craftsman, makes it very personal for me".
David's experience in woodworking spans 15 years in the industry, and after graduating from the Letterfrack Furniture College in Connemara, he went on to work both nationally and internationally honing his craft, adding a national certification as a carpenter joiner, and working on an exciting portfolio of projects.
"My years in Australia have been some of the most influential in my time as a woodworker. The exposure to boutique homes from foundation to handover, paired with the vision of award-winning architects and builders motivated me to establish David Oliver Bespoke. A showcase of inspiration from both near and far reflected in furniture".
All of our furniture is made lovingly at our workshop by hand, so we are careful with materials at every stage of the process. From precious metals to natural stone and hardwoods, all of our materials are sourced locally within Ireland.
Our waste and bi-products are recycled at a neighbouring facility and offcuts used for the development of some of our smaller pieces.
